We are weary, but home and safe. It's such a long drive from here to Mom and Dad's house. Often we break it up in two days, leaving in the afternoon and driving about four hours and leaving the other eight for the next day. It makes it more relaxed. But this time we were traveling with Hannah Cat so we did it all in one day. A little car sickness (Gloria), a little crying (Gloria and Hannah Cat), three viewings of The Sound of Music (thanks, Dad...), and 600+ miles later, we are home.
On our way into town, I did something I have never done before...I called and ordered curbside pick-up at Outback. After we unloaded the car, all I had to do was put it on plates. Honestly, we could have eaten it out of the styrofoam box and been perfectly happy. Now, Gloria and Hannah Cat are racing back and forth, from one end of the house to the other. Gloria is dragging a new cat toy behind her and HC is perfectly happy to oblige by chasing it with reckless abandon. They've both crashed into the door, only to take off again.
Lots of unpacking to do. First order of business though is to get Gloria bathed and in bed. Lots of things to write about from our trip. More in the next few days. Pictures, too.
